Policy #001
May 16, 2008: ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
(Revised April 27, 2011)
Guest Services, Inc. is a U.S.-based hospitality management company with a long history of providing food and beverage, lodging, and recreational services to the visitors in the Nation's Capital and other unique locations around the country. As a result, we have ongoing opportunities to positively impact the quality of our environment. To this end, we have dedicated ourselves to being a model of environmental stewardship in our workplaces and surrounding communities.
To fulfill this commitment, Guest Services encourages and empowers every one of its employees to fully embrace the Company's efforts towards preserving the environment. To support this culture, the Company has established an Environmental Committee of dedicated employees who, in addition to communicating with our operating personnel continually seek out best business practices and new technologies, implement new initiatives, measure our progress and report results
The following guidelines serve to direct our efforts:
- Comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations
- Promote environmental awareness among our peers
- Continue to implement new ecological purchasing standards
- Reduce waste by actively encouraging and engaging in recycling and reuse
- Use energy-efficient and cutting-edge technologies and procedures to reduce energy consumption
- Pursue partnerships with other agencies to maximize our compliance with current environmental policies
- Increase our community involvement to further our corporate support of a safer environment
Guest Services is committed to delivering the most environmentally-friendly products and services possible to our customers and clients. This goal requires that we proactively learn from our experiences and from new knowledge as it becomes available, and then shape our strategies accordingly. To carry out this function, Guest Services convenes an Environmental Committee meeting every month to serve as a forum for examining this changing landscape and to allow our committee members the opportunity to incorporate new ideas on a continual basis.
