January 26, 2009: "GREEN" RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION

Issue/Problem: A lack of standards existed for defining  green restaurant processes and policies

Solution: The Green Restaurant Association is an independent organization certifying restaurants using consistent standards.

Policy: The Green Restaurant Association is an approved association for all Guest Services food services operations. All food service operations are required to earn certification by December 31, 2011. Food service operations should maintain their Green restaurant Association certification, and continue to look for more opportunities to improve.
