April 18, 2008: TRANS FAT FREE OILYS, SALAD DRESSINGS, and MAYONNAISE

Issue/Problem: Trans fats, or hydrogenated fats are implicated as a cause in heart disease as they raise levels of LDL cholesterol. A contributing factor in heart disease.
Solution: Frying oils, salad dressings and mayonnaise which are trans fat free have no hydrogenated oils.
Policy: Only trans fat free products are approved for use in company kitchens.
